The efficient generation of light, the sensory-physiological effects and general lighting optimized from an ergonomic and ecological point of view have been the central topics of research at LTI for many decades. Even today, the goal of generating light efficiently for humans and using it profitably is the top priority. In this context, many different aspects of photonics are interlinked, ranging from optical communications technology and optical biotechnology to applications in industrial UV technology and automotive lighting and display technology.
