2018: Tobias Leonhard's poster contribution at the "International Workshop on Atomic Force Microscopy for Advanced Functional Materials (AFM2 2018), which took place in Nanjing at the end of 2018, was awarded the poster prize.
2017: At the 10th ISFOE Symposium 2017 (10th International Symposium on Flexible Organic Electronics), Christian Sprau was awarded the Young Researcher Award for his presentation on work on organic solar cells.
2016: Joshua Fragoso's short presentation on "Organic Photovoltaics" was again awarded "Best Pitch of the Evening" by the KIT university group r2b-student.
2016: During the 32nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) in Munich, Jens Czolk received the EU PVSEC Student Award for his presentation on "High-efficiency, fully liquid-processed, mechanically flexible, semi-transparent organic solar modules".
2016: Joshua Fragoso received the award "Best Pitch of the Evening" from the KIT university group r2b-student for his presentation on "Organic Photovoltaics". The young scientist thus succeeded in inspiring the audience with an exciting insight into his field of research within 180 seconds.
2015: The Gips-Schüle Research Award was awarded to Stefan Gärtner and Alexander Colsmann from LTI and Bernd Baumstümmler from MJR Pharmjet for their scientific work on environmentally friendly nanoparticle dispersions for deposition of organic solar cells. Polymeric nanoparticle dispersion enable the deposition of organic semiconductor layers in large scale without using harmful halogenated solvents and therefore prevent these substances from ending up in environment. This work is funded by the German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) within the project UNICORN. The video produced for the award ceremony is also available online for further information (German only).
2015: The Society for Light Technology of the University of Kalrsruhe (HfL) dignified the Bachelor thesis of Adam Hochstuhl on "Spacial photo-current mapping of organic solar cells" and the Doctorial thesis of Stefan Höfle on "Solution processed organic tandem light emitting diodes".
2015: At XIV Brazil MRS Meeting Daniel Bahro received the Horiba Award for the best oral presentation. The talk was about "Understanding the External Quantum Efficiency of Organic Homo-Tandem Solar Cells Utilizing a Three-Terminal Device Architecture".
2015: Min Zhang got the Young Researcher Award at 8th International Symposium on Flexible Organic Electronics (ISFOE) 2015. She presented her work on semi-transparent organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs).
2011: The poster by Andreas Pütz on "Indium Doped Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles as n-Doped Buffer Layer in Organic Solar Cells" was awarded in category "Advanced Photovoltaics: New Concepts and Ultra-High Efficiency" at 26th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibit.
